After 24 years of winemaking experience, 14 of which were spent at Wirra Wirra in McLaren Vale, winemaker Ben Riggs is now established under his own banner. Mr. Riggs Wine Company Pty. Ltd. finds Ben operating as consultant winemaker to a select group of principally McLaren Vale labels. These include well established estate-grown Penny’s Hill, which doubles as office and a base for Ben to work out of, plus Pertaringa and Geoff Hardy. In addition, Ben consults in the South of France for Cazal Viel and on other local projects such as Zonte’s Footstep, Journey’s End and the highly acclaimed Tatiarra wines from the Heathcote region of Victoria.
